There are many steps to be prepared and survive an earthquake but the three main steps to survive natural disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes are easy and simple. Another way to prepare ourselves for earthquakes is if we buy emergency food. There are special types of food that come in bags. The bags are easy and small to carry with us. The bags are called E.R. bars the food that is in the bags can be for people like us or it can also be for dogs, and cats. These bars contain a lot of vitamins for your body, so we can stay with energy in our bodies. Lets not forget that earthquakes can sometimes be really dangerous or other times they can be not to dangerous just soft. An earthquake that was really dangerous and sad for the Haitian people was the Haiti earthquake that happened a Tuesday, January 12, 2010. The earthquake was of magnitude 7.0. An earthquake of magnitude 7.0 is really dangerous and can easily cause a disaster for any town/city. Besides causing a disaster it also lets people homeless and kills a lot of people. According to hubpages.com, about 200,000 people died of this terrible incident, and 2,000,000 were left homeless.
Let’s not forget that we live in California. California is a place where earthquakes can often occur. Especially because we have the San Andreas fault. The San Andreas Fault is a geological fault that runs through almost all California from north to south. If the San Andreas Fault shakes most likely a big earthquake will occur as it did in San Francisco in 1906. Because we live in California we should consider being prepare for an earthquake, but not just because we live in California we should be ready. Everyone and in everywhere should take the precautions to have a plan for any natural disasters.
